Been having trouble staying up for the episodes in Owari for some reason. Other than that, I've enjoyed everything prior to that without being so sleepy.
It's a vehicle for endless fanservice so ridiculously over the top it may as well be porn, but it's clever somehow and deep. I read a blog post that with 100% sincerity broke down the toothbrush scene as an examination of emotional empathy instead of, you know, a brother mouth-fucking his cute sister with a toothbrush.

Things are generally pretentious when characters talk a lot without saying anything meaningful but then the show acts like what they said is serious, smart and deep.
My only gripe with the show is that it was hard to watch Arararagi go after every shirt in sight after the ending of bakemonogatari. It's a very good show otherwise.

I don't hate it, i don't even dislike it really. It's just not my cup of tea, and it can't hold my interest for more than a few episodes at a time.
I understand the appeal of it though, and i do thoroughly enjoy the art direction, quite gorgeous. I've only ever gotten through the first series, maybe one day ill pick it up again.

I don't get why people try so hard to look for deeper meaning in the series. It's not even trying to be deep. It's just a character-driven story with some puns, visual experimentation and a little bit of symbolism. The lengthy dialogs, as far as I can remember, haven't tried to expound any enlightening philosophical ideas. They're just the means by which you learn about the characters.

But then finally started Nise because I'm a completionist and suddenly it clicked and I marathoned everything within a week. Monogatari is kind of an acquired taste.

The Araragi is a hopeless pervert joke got boring after they recycled it for the 50th time. I dropped it midway on season 2 I think and the self references, inside jokes and nodes to previous/future episodes were also annoying. The whole series became a parody of itself.

I don't hate it. It's fine. It's really hit-or-miss right from the beginning though, the "great" arcs (in my opinion anyway, some of my favorite ones are ones /a/ generally seems to dislike) are all really spread out from each other.
Not loving it doesn't mean that you hate it, everyone here knows that but I guess over-exagerrating everything is just too fun for a lot of people or something.

I was thinking of Nadeko Snake, but it's like Mayoi Jiangshi to me. Really fun banter, but I dunno how to feel about the plot/premise of the arc, in Nadeko Snake's case it's partly about how abruptly it ends.
Also the LN guys seem to insist that the anime adapted Nadeko Snake horribly compared to the rest of Bake, I'd like to look into that at some point.
