What we learned:
-2014 starts the #1 decline of the 10s aura
-2015 median sale is 1998, so if your anime sells 2k, it still has high chance to have season 2
-Game adaptation always sells, no matter how shitty they do it, so they won't care much about the quality
>>
>>140319688
>increase number of shows
>declining population base that buys the shows
Do people understand how basic math works?
>>
>>140319688
Seems like manga adaptations don't make that much anymore.
>>
>>140319688
>-Game adaptation always sells, no matter how shitty they do it, so they won't care much about the quality
That explains Ace Attorney.
>>
>>140319688
this doesn't have how many people subscribe to stream, or even NT torrent download numbers though.

does anyone have the torrent download chart for last season?
>>
>>140319889
That number doesn't matter to anime sales, man.
That said, as buying declines, paid or ad-based revenue official stream viewership has increased so worldwide trends must be much more different.
>>
>>140319803
People caught on that the manga is almost always better and doesn't stop abruptly.

but it does because most people have transferred out of having to buy dvd/bd or never watch a show
>>
Not even /v/ is this obsessed with sales
>>
>>140319974
How would you know, /v/tard?

Checkmate.
>>
>>140319688
Don't forget some shows are just adverts for source material
>>
>>140319991
Because I browse /v/.
I never denied that. Im browsing around 6 boards at any given time
>>
>>140320007
Committees dont get money from source material selling.
>>
How do I read this
>>
>>140319688
>manga that low
>filled with degenerate shounenshit, censored eroge and MANime
The written form will die first in Japan, and then the rest will follow.

No originals?

Thats a fuckload of VNs tho
>>
>>140320148
Did you forget to take your pills today anon
>>
>>140319688
>more anime is made
>each individual anime sells less
Wow. Really? You need a statistic for that?
It's not like the otaku became richer in the last decade.

Will it lead to a crash? Maybe. Who cares though worst thing that could happen is we go back to pre-2005 era. Good shit if you ask me.

Burger flippers the analogue of trailer park scum keeps the anime industry afloat. Literally. Meanwhile /a/ thinks this is some sort of a high art medium.

Can't stop laughing every time I get reminded about that.

>Game adaptation always sells, no matter how shitty they do it, so they won't care much about the quality
No wonder they're always terrible.
>>
>>140320534
Are originals so rare that they dont deserve their own category
>>
>>140319688
So basically this says that total anime sales are up by over 10% in 4 years, which isn't bad given the economic situation.
>>
>>140320009
Since PS4 has been dominating for the last two years the nintendrones who used to post Wii sales EVERY SINGLE DAY are now quiet
>>
>>140319974
>Not even /v/ is this obsessed with sales

But sales develops trends, and if your interests are on the trend, you are a failure in choosing that subniche!
>>
>>140319688
Game/VN average is likely pulled up by stuff like Fate or Love Live. Median would be more interesting.
>>
>>140319974
Probably because the gaming industry isn't hanging on by a 50-60K sales per year thread.
>>
>>140319974
Yes they fucking are, two weeks ago they were constantly shistposting about that Fire Emblem game selling like 200k or something.
>>
>>140321248
>you are a failure in choosing that subniche!
Yeah. You have to like shit that doesn't sell and will die and never be made again so you can whine about it on /a/ for a decade.

Don't be plebs! Like shit no one give a damn about!
>>
>>140319688
Thanks for the insight Reddit.
>>
>>140321574
How hard is that CG anime flopping
>>
>>140321451
But thats just shitposting

/a/ actually takes sales seriously
>>
>>140321795
It's not. It's just edgy enough to get all the chuunis pumped.
>>

About as serious as anything else we have no control over.
>>
>>140321795
CG? The anime in the pic is clearly drawn
>>
>>140321970
Yes by a computer
>>
>>140321984
hand drawn on a computer, stop being blind for a few seconds
>>
>>140322016
Technically hand-drawn on paper, then inked and coloured on a computer.
>>
I guess it shows that otaku are going to be less and less profitable, especially with a rapidly declining population. The status quo will be maintained for a while but there won't be any great boom.

There needs to be more diversity and risks taken to bring in more audiences and demographics. An entire medium like animation can be used for much more than what's seen in these mostly by-the-numbers seasons.

A revolution that likely won't happen
>>
>>140321829
If people can shitpost about sales, then they WILL shitpost about sales, this applies to everyboard, specially /v/ since it's bigger.
>>
>>140322108
There is going to be a huge push to lure western audiences even more soon.

>>
>>140320709
God eater was almost interesting a few episodes in, it did look pretty damn cool though.
>>
>>140322169
Hahaha, no. There won't be.
They'll just look for more aggressive content dispersal systems they can make use of like Crunchyroll.

They'll probably just go on Netflix and then leverage TPP to start closing down torrent sites.
>>
>>140321574
>really want this show to be gooooooood
>>
>>140322300
Yeah, I can more of see anime execs trying to make anime more socially acceptable in Japan, failing, and eventually just dying out.
>>
>>140322290
Speaking of god eater, how's its sales?
>>
>>140322343
You can't MAKE something more socially acceptable. Either it is, or it's not.

Don't worry too much about it.
Anime will survive through VR driven wankfests.
Non interactive media is in decline regardless, it doesn't have more than around a 100 years more before it disapears.
>>
>>140322448
I need a constant stream of high quality anime, otherwise my life has no meaning

I refuse to believe that. 2000s were VN years. 2010s are LN years.
>>
>>140319688
>manga sales cratering
Good. Maybe nips will stop buying those shitty doodles and make more anime instead
>>
>>140322573
Your life has no meaning already.
>>
>>140320956
This season has 3 or 4 I think? That's not a lot considering there are 50+ shows. Last season had even less originals.
>>
>>140322795
More like 7 or 8 originals, not counting shorts.
>>
>>140322448
>it doesn't have more than around a 100 years more before it disapears.

You wish

I bet a thousand internet against this
>>
>>140322718
Average is skewed.
There aren't that many VN adaptions anymore so shit like UBW pulls it up
>>
>>140326724
Enjoy losing your internets
