As a Superman fan, I absolutely agree he is ridiculously overpowered. But I don't read his comics to watch him beat up bad guys or become even more powerful. It's his moral delima he lives with and personal restraints he puts on himself that makes him interesting.
He lives in a world made of cardboard, a god among men. He has to take precautions not to fight too hard or move to fast else he causes massive devastation. When a powerful foe shows up he has to decide just how much he has to let go of his restraints so he doesn't accidentally kill him or the people around him.
We all know he's OPAF. But that's not what makes him interesting.

What they failed to factor in is the time distortion created by Beerus traveling faster than the speed of light at all. The world around Beerus traveling even at just light speed would be at a stand still, time would stop progressing. He would be there instantly as far as the world around him would be concerned. Even if he moved at 99.999999% the speed of light, time would slow down to a near stop during his travel there.
So yeah, their math is fucked. Any math based on how the outside world experiences an object traveling near light speed or FTL cannot be accurate. We'd need to know how much time elapsed from Beerus' perspective.

I mean, it really loses its impact when he's had a crisis about how far away from everything else he is because of his strenght for the 75th time.
Superman's concept could have worked in a single storyline with a clear beginning and end, the fact that he is living in the eternal worold of comic reboots and multiverses and recycling storylines only makes me hate the initial concept more and more. There's really nothing more that can be learned from Superman, the first world of cardboard speech was nice, but it just keeps on going.

To an extent, they did actually breath a lot of life into him with New 52 by bringing down the power scale immensely. That is, until he got late into the story and he got OPAF again. But still, at the start he wasn't crazy powerful. Just above average superhuman powerful.
It's why they abandoned ship on Post-Crisis. He was getting close to Pre-Crisis Superman. That and The Flash "destroyed" the universe by running really really fast.

When an object gets to the event horizon it never appears "Crushed" to any perspective. In fact it looks frozen in time there to all perspectives. We don't know what it is like for the perspective of the object going in as anything beyond the event horizon is... well, guess work.
So them not depicting things getting crushed is actually accurate. After that point it becomes science fantasy (not science fiction) because we don't know for sure 100% what lies beyond a black hole's event horizon.

The characters themselves assumed that they'd be crushed though, like the dialogue indicates, and they aren't supposed to be dumb, so the clear implication is that they'd still need to advance further in order to get hit by the full force of the blackhole, but then the reveal afterwards stops all that.
