Hyouka and Hibike. Hibike can surpass Hyouka if S2 is great.
What is the cut-off point for "modern"? After K-ON? Nichijou, if that's the case. If after Nichijou, Chuunibyou original season. Hyouka, Tamako Market, KnK, Chu2 second season, Hibike were too boring and I dropped most of them half-way through. I didn't bother with Free or Brilliant Park at all.

This is a good list. Glad to see there are people out there that appreciate Free! ES too. I would make little changes like switching out two shows here and there but overall it's decent. I also don't think there's a bad zone, just a great zone, good zone, and decent zone.
Hyouka and Hibike are great but not something I would rewatch like AmaBuri or Nichijou. Probably Nichijou.

Hyouka literally gets better after every rewatch, and I can watch any episode of Hibike any number of times in any order and still enjoy it.

Definitely Hibike but I just finished Amagi and that's probably my second favourite.

Haruhi no Shoushitsu too, but I don't know if it counts as modern KyoAni.
Amagi is the only worthwhile show they have made post-Nichijou.
Hyouka is too boring to get through.

That is the single most depressing thing I've ever seen
Hyouka is my favorite with Hibike a close second.
I really liked Tamako Market, but I only liked the good parts of it. When it was good, it was ultra-comfy, great fun, and everything that KyoAni excels at, but half the time it was about that stupid ass bird and his stupid ass plotline.
Tamako Love Story made up for a lot of the problems with Tamako Market though and retroactively made me like Tamako Market a lot more.
