Basically, Cross was telling Allen to die as he didn't want Allen to suffer any more pain and no matter what Allen does, Allen will disappear anyway. Cross also said he would go along with Allen if Allen was scared of death, as long as Allen accepted it.
But Allen told Cross to fucked off and he wouldn't stop just because someone tell him "this is the end". He'd rather die walking on the path he choose than just giving up, as he believe even if he would disappear anyway, the path he left might open a chance for the end of the endless war, so no matter what might happen, he would continue walking forward
