>literally says "she's in a pinch"
>translate as "she's in a bind"
It's not just Crunchyroll. Why does every fucking subgroup do this? Saying that somebody is in a "pinch" is not exclusive to Japan.
>>
Looks fine to me.

My problem is people still literally and incorrectly translating bicchi as "bitch" instead of "slut".
>>
>>140011509
Because nobody fucking says "She's in a pinch" in English.
>>
>>140011509
>false cognate
>also a pun
It's not localized, but you are a moron.
>>
>>140012870
Yes they do. It's a common as fuck way to say someone's in a tight situation.

>>140011509
It's just subber egos and the sense of superiority they must get by changing lines. Because they can express things better than the writer, apparently.
>>
>>140012870
That's a regular English phrase though
>>
Same reason they always """translate""" the word おい into "hey" or turn ツインテール into "pigtails"
fuckin idiots
>>
>>140012870
It's not something I hear everyday but it most definitely is a well-known and used phrase.

Akame Ga Kill ruined it for everybody.

As an Australian, this hurts my soul
>>
>>140015264
Actually I've found that a lot of languages use Oi. It is a better way to grab attention than 'hey'.

Better just learn nip and not deal with an all HS season, most of which is funi.
>>
Nips using:

>style
>pattern
>dont mind
>>
>>140011509
Probably from the script they were sent by the company or something.
>>
>>140015352
The only thing that I think is dumb and should be translated is the use of "my pace". That sounds awkward when you are using "my pace" as an adjective or adverb. "In a pinch" is not foreign though at all.

>subs have character A saying character B's name

Using "jeez" in translations EVER. Do these dense motha fuggas realize that the religious connotations of that word would be completely absent in Japanese culture. People don't say "Jesus!" in Japan, and "Jeez" is basically the same thing.

It pulls me right out of the story.
>>
>>140017728
The one I don't get is why don't they ever translate a student saying just 'sensei' to a teacher as either "sir" or "miss"? Depending on their gender, that is how I referred to literally every single teacher I had for my entire school career.
>>
>>140017920
>>140017728
They should just translate them to shit like fa m or bruh or cunt

Guys we're getting off track. Some of the things you're mentioning actually do read awkwardly. I don't see anything wrong with "she's in a pinch" though.

in a pinch means if absolutely necessary. it has never and will never be an alternative for in a bind. two totally different meanings
