I was born in '97, started watching chinese cartoons in 2009 when some girl showed me Lucky Star. I've been hooked on moeshit ever since.
Before that I guess I watched Pokemon whenever it happened to be on Cartoon Network, but I don't think that really counts.

More or less the same for me, also born in 97. I started out watching Dragon Ball though, i saw the first couple episodes ofDBZ and decided to watch the first anime before watching DBZ. I may have seen some incidental anime, but my family has some weird ideas about ttelevision and computers, so i wasn't allowed to watch much TV and only used computers to play Combat Flight sims

I probably saw DBZ on Adult Swim or something before actually getting into chinese cartoons. My Uncle was kinda into anime too, so I probably saw some shows he watched. My parents were pretty lax about what I watched on TV and did on the computer.

I think my uncle and father may have seen some anime when they were in college or highschool, they either don't remember that they were anime or aren't admitting it. I had a sheltered childhood, so my only access to anything manga or anime related was the local library for many years, so i never found any anime and i read a few pretty shitty entry tier manga.
Born in '93 here. Never got a real chance to actually start watching anime for real till I moved out to college a few years ago, cause home is backwoods as fuck with as shitty Internet as imaginable. I'm pretty sure that my first experience with anime was with some random episode of Vision of Escaflowne on some random cable channel back when I was really young. Took me absolutely forever to find out what it was to watch it after I moved out.

Sad thing is, I like the casual discussion more than anything on this site. A good thread here is a pretty nice experience. Kind of only really go on here and another few slower moving boards anymore.
