Will there ever be an anime as crazy but hilarious as Azumanga Daioh? I don't think I've ever watched a comedy/slice of life this special in my life.
The comedy especially was so well done along with the characters. Moments were so unique to this series I just can't imagine anything even coming close to this. I've tried Lucky Star but it's a fucking joke compared to this.
I need Osaka taking nearly 3 whole seconds to do anything. I need Sakaki being so cool yet so simple and patient with what makes her happy. I need Yukari and Nyamo's sibling-teacher relationship.
I need Father.
This is truly the greatest comedy slice of life I've ever watched. Does anyone know of anything similar to this? Azumanga Daioh can't be this unique

At times it almost feels like a parody of the normal highschool slice of life animes where there a.ways has to be some moral to learn. Or some specific running plot to explore but this anime doesn't adhere for rules... I realized I was watching something truly special when they showed the New Years Dream episode. It's as if the writers dropped acid the night before a deadline and proceeded to do whatever they wanted with the characters and threw the script away.

SoL anime today is too focused on sex appeal or a manufactured sense of cute to compare to Azumanga Daioh.
Nichibros is pretty great.

I personally love K-ON but it's not probably something you like as much.
