Is it just me, or are more and more manga artists and character designers drawing inspiration from Spirou?
I mean, there's something in the way the lines are drawn, very elastic and round, that reminds me a lot of some fairly recent Franco-Belgian comics.
It's pretty cool I guess but I hope it won't become a massive trend that lasts a whole decade like every other style in anime/manga.

You sure?
Not even the fact that the irises occupy a very small area on the eyes? I mean that's usually employed to express intense surprise but some mangaka make it the default look of their characters, and that's something only French artists normally do.

It's more the fact that they're so bouncy and elastic.
Franquin has a similar artstyle.

I dunno, I think OP's sort of on to something. I hope it sticks around, though.
