Yuri manga seems to sell pretty well, so why does yuri anime often fail in sales?
>Yuri manga
>selling well

It doesn't?

I doubt it there's barely any yuri seires at all
and I say "series" as opposed to doujins and one-shots

god-damn that short-haired girl pisses me the fuck off

There are quite a few popular series that are either still ongoing or recently finished. Take a look at stuff like Murcielago, Citrus, Sakura-Trick, Akuma no Riddle, Ano Ko ni Kiss to Shirayuri wo and so on. They all seem to be pretty popular and selling, just like that NTR one, but I don't know if it's actual yuri or not, but it's pretty much a no-brainer that if any of those would get a TV anime adaptation, it would sell quite poorly.

Why so?
>>139937694
aside from murcielago none of them sell
the men always win.

I guess that fujoshi are stronger (and crazier).

Last I've read, Citrus sold, well, as well as that NTR one, whatever the fuck it was called, can't remember. Citrus was also looking for a studio that would make an anime adapatation.

Don't you already have a thread for that?
>>139939160
I'm not comparing fanbases, I'm asking strictly about yuri.
>>139936611
Strike Witches sold well

There's also Yuru Yuri and other shows that stay on a subtext level. I'm talking about more blatant shows, like Strawberry Panic, Kannazuki no Miko and so on.

Maybe because the otaku who buy most of the overpriced BDs aren't that interested in explicit yuri series like Sakura Kiss? I know that some yuri manga sells wells, but there are more people who buys manga than there are people who spends big amounts of money on BDs.

read where? i dont see either of them on any charts
>>139940471
>read where?
/a/, I remember some months back anons posted amazon sales and those were selling well.
I think the problem with yuri in general is that it's fucking boring.
The purpose of the romance genre is to self-insert and "experience" the romance first hand. But since you can't self-insert as a girl, yuri always falls flat.
Yuri fan here and I actually hate most "yuri" manga. All of my my favorite stuff ends up being subtexty manga/anime. Not because it's subtext but simply because that's where I find all the cuter pairings, good art styles, and just better material in general. I don't want to read or watch some shit by some female yaoi mangaka that decided to do "yuri". I'm a male yuri fan and I got into anime with shounen and JRPGs like a lot of people. My favorite yuri anime are actually Yama no Susume and Symphogear.
