After reading the Ninja Slayer manga which originally came out 2 years before the anime, NS really deserves movie-quality animation for the fights and to depict how fucked up and hilariously Asian the city of Neo Saitama is. Having it at least feel like the CG PVs for the original novels would be a start.
The way Trigger decided to adapt Ninja Slayer is actually an anomaly among all the adaptations.

Actually, not really at all. He also did Nancy's anime design, didn't he? That I liked better in the anime than the manga (even though the manga's version of One Minute Before The Tanuki where she really debuts isn't out in English yet)

It really was, Chris Sabat was perfect as Ninja Slayer and whoever voiced Nancy also did a good job. Also dat Inferno Cop reference early on.
