The other episodes implied a little more was going to happen then it ends as if we never saw the other episodes. This might have been good as a movie, but as a series, they tried to explore the world they were in but it led to nothing interestingbesides the romance, the romance was good.

What exactly were you expecting? I thought it was obvious where the show was going to end from episode one, everything that happened afterward supported that idea, and then it ended as expected.
It seemed clear from the beginning that show was aboutnot letting the fear and pain of loss prevent you from treasuring and making the most of the time you have. I never expected the sci-fi setting to serve any purpose other than providing a reason for limited time, so I was only marginally disappointed by the lack of world-building. Things like Giftia rampancy and the like seemed like they were just there to show why things had to end, rather than any substantiative fleshing out of the setting.
I think I agree, though, that it could have easily been a movie had they just focused on the romance.
