I know we are getting off topic, but yes it isn't that hard to get into fishing. Might want to put some bait on the hook, but that is the basics. It always starts with some faggots stating he never was loved by his father and didnt know how to fish. Then some anon who had a father figure will ask what fish are around him and where he fish. They then go back and forth about day one shit. And it happens multiple times in a general. Perhaps have Karahara be a stoic loner at first due to her past, the MC would be a a no-friend loser.
They become closer because he takes some pity on her, she rebukes the pity, but he hangs around anyway with her in classes or after school.
