The manga art is really sloppy in the beginning but gets incredibly good by the end. Very few series pull of emotion like Gash Bell and the anime is worth it alone for the soundtrack. Still needs a Brotherhood treatment though.

There's no reason to watch the subs when the dub is pretty much better for English speakers in every way. The real crime is that the anime never finished the manga
