Freakin' Toei's Disk Wars series was on the right track
Marvel makes good live action stuff but bad animated stuff. It's the opposite of how DC makes shit live action stuff but good animated stuff.

How much oversight did Marvel have on the anime? I figured they just provided general guidelines of what they considered unacceptable, but the let the studios create whatever they wanted.
The Iron Man and X-Men ones were just plain boring. I didn't watch the others.

They were clearly trying to be faithful to the source material, at least with the ones I watched. Don't know if this was mandated by Marvel or Madhouse's own initiative.
In contrast, the Witchblade anime by Gonzo only took the basic premise and created its own story and characters, and it turned out a lot better than these.
The general concept was just not good.
It all seemed motivated by the vague idea of "maybe we can cash in TWICE". And then it had neither the budget nor the grand idea.

Batman: TAS is great, Superman: TAS, Justuce League, Batman Beyond and the films in the DC animated universe are good, aside from that most DC Universe Animated Original Movies that I've watched are good or great, particularly I would recommend Under the Red Hood and All-Star Superman.
