I just watched this. It was nice.
Is penguindrum better?
Yes.
IMO, the apex in Yuri Kuma Arashi was episode 4.
In Penguindrum, the whole second cour was climatic.
Also, enjoy finding clues to the end of the story in the opening.

I didn't get it
It's easily Ikuni's weakest work.
It's still better than a lot of things out there.
I thoroughly enjoyed this show once the twist in the plot was revealed
considered dropping it at 3 and only the theme song kept me going

YKA and Penguindrum are great but Utena is better

I liked it more then Penguindrum. Penguindrum felt too diluted and drawn out while YKA was the perfect length. Characters were generally better, art style felt more unique, only think Penguindrum did better was animation but only by a hair.
