They are actually, very comfy. Two kids, boy and a girl. It's an "if" story of if Rem had said "yes" when Subaru asked to run away from all this together during the horrors of arc three.

So far he wrote four chapters of this alternate story, two of which features his son as the protagonist.
Slightly off topic, but I'm curious to see what others think.
There are a lot of these fantasy shows now where they put a good bit of emphasis on making the world seem believable: Racism, politics, trade, currency, etc. I'm thinking GATE, Log Horizon, and this show. It's nice and I'm sure they do it for a variety of reasons. But..
No one ever mentions the foreign illnesses/germs/viruses that would fuck you up if you ever had a similar experience. Just traveling back in time a few hundred years on our own planet would leave you sick and dying within a few weeks. Going to a completely new planet would be like throwing a fish into a volcano in terms of immunity.
And you have the reverse. MC shows up. Wipes out the bad guys, and the good guys, with small pox.

I think it's more likely that the diseases from the MC damage the place he visits than the other way around.
The MC would have been vaccinated for plenty of things, measles, mumps, rubella, as well has having a stronger immune system and being an descendant of someone who's survived the various plagues.
Add in globalism causing a more global distribution of diseases and you have higher innate resistance.
However, it depends on a lot of factors and simply it not being earth-like or truly historic in the microorganism sense would mess that all up.
But the real reason is that this typically makes an uninteresting story. MC gets transported to a world and gets sick and dies. In Re:Zero that'd be pretty funny since he'd get sick and die over and over again.
Well I say funny but dying infinite times of painful diseases can't be great for the whole sanity thing.

That being said, you are totally right about the diseases and it's something that pretty much every series ignores either out of ignorance or just convenience. If you want to have a series about a generic otaku killing white people and making a diverse fantasy harem (GATE) or about a generic otaku getting super undeath powers (this), then realistic shit like diseases just detracts from the power wakery, edginess, and self insertion. Terraformars lightly touches on this subject (mysterious AE virus comes from Mars roaches as far as we can tell), but it's just one disease and the roaches aren't affected by any of our microbiology in the slightest.
