Yeah Hit is very powerful, but this tournament has been mostly about adapting to something more than just brute strength and ki. Hit has some sort of strange powers that nobody can immediately figure out. He's going to knockout Vegeta at least. He might beat Goku and/or Nipples, but the point is is that nobody knows what he's doing. SSB can probably beat him easily if they find out how his power works. He might actually be pretty weak relative to Champa and Beerus.

Super isn't perfect (ESPECIALLY THE ANIMATION), but overall it's an improving anime now that they're out of the movie arcs. Hell, even the movie arcs added some good stuff, like Gohan's start to his own character arc.

That wasn't kept though. Shisami gets killed by Gohan without facing Piccolo at all, and Tagoma, the one who beats up Piccolo in Super, got a big power up by training with Freeza, and was said to be as strong as Gohan at his best.

It was also done even right before the Other World Tournament. The difference is that in those occasions the anime made him a joke, by showing that his growth was much smaller than Goku's and that their gap had widened, while Super portrays Freeza as a fighting genius that surpassed Goku once he actually trained.

Goku hasn't fought in 4 episodes now.
Really, GT was so much "Goku time" that they couldn't even do a proper "other fighters hold on for Goku to arrive" scenario. In the Super 17 arc, Freeza's and Cell's return was just there to give Goku battles and screentime while stuck in hell, rather than focusing on the warriors on Earth. Compare with the RoF arc in Super, where Goku and Vegeta are barely shown before returning to Earth.

Just saw episode 37 and I am inexplicably filled with warm fuzzies.
All this wonderful character development for Vegeta, and how he "teaches" Cabba to go Super Saiyan was fantastic and in-character.
He not only uses Cabba's own reasons for fighting as a way to incite him to transform, but reminds him that a Saiyan must hold onto their pride.Who else thinks that Cabba is specifically Vegeta's U6 counterpart, or possibly the son of his U6 counterpart?Though if it turns out that the U6 Saiyan King is his counterpart I'd be fine with that too.

The whole Cabba situation is kind of odd. If the Saiyan King is stronger than him, why didn't Champa call him? Did he just pick a random Saiyan?
It's also odd how Cabba talks about needing more power to protect his universe - if had difficult and dangerous battles, it's strange that he, or other SSJs from Universe 6, didn't become SSJs before.

Beerus' planet is super distant though. Goku could pick up ki signatures from Earth while being in the Supreme Kai planet (and vice-versa) but he couldn't pick anything on Earth from Beerus' planet - including Freeza's, in spite of him attacking. It's only when Gohan power ups after Piccolo dies that he is able to sense someone on Earth.

He still turned around the battle twice. Of course, both times those attacks failed, but it's still better than just getting beaten up like Vegeta did.
Goku also matched and beat 4 star dragon while Vegeta couldn't keep up with him.

They never stated if he was stronger than Cabba, just that he was a strong and prideful king.
As for why they never became Super Saiyans before, well...considering that a lot of conflicts were orchestrated by Frost, it stands to reason that they'd be ones that he could easily resolve, albeit sometimes with help.
Can't be expected to get stronger if things start to plateau, right? That, and if Cabba's an example of the U6 Saiyan race, they're far more amiable and humble than their U7 counterparts.
Being prideful doesn't exactly fit the description of someone belonging to a race of people described as the universe's heroes, right? That, and going by Shonen manga law, heroes are rather easygoing and only get pressed into unstoppable rages if the right buttons are pressed.
There just hasn't been the right set of circumstances for any of Cabba's people to achieve a Super Saiyan transformation. But now that Vegeta has passed on the secrets of the Super Saiyan transformation to Cabba, They'll become that much more effective in their role as their universe's protectors, and Frost is gonna have hell to pay, for sure.

Dragon Ball GT vs. Dragon Ball Super
Dragon Ball GT fucked up the entire cast except Trunks, design-wise. But SSJ4 looked good. It came full circle with SSJ + Oozaru. The villains (Baby, S17, Shenron) also look good and their suddenly-stronger-than-Buu-power makes sense. Baby's power is leeching off others. Super 17 is fusion. Fusion has always been OP. And it's nice that the Shadow Dragons exist - We all know it was bullshit how much they relied on the dragon balls for every fart.
Meanwhile, DBS has literally-who's in the tournament that aren't impressive by design, or anything really. Winnie the Pooh is a Buu knockoff with less features. Frost is a less-good-looking Freeza, and he's fucking retarded too. Like a Bond villain he just spills the beans on his plans. Why?
