This season is one of the best that have come, and it's probably because KyoAni and Shaft aren't doing anything.

Takeuchi was influenced by Ikuhara. I really like his style. He worked on Utena, did one of the best episodes in Penguindrum(pic related), storyboarded the first 5 eps of Bake and episode 1 of Maria Holic.

Oh nice, I'll be sure to remember the name. Ikuhara and the Shaft guys all sorta stem from the same (Dezaki) place, but it's cool to see more people take from Ikuhara over Shinbo. We could use more good Ikuhara-esque directors out there, since I've been pretty meh on things from Hosoda and Igarashi lately.
Shaft is the better studio though.
