Also the staff changes have to do with toriyama fighting with toei to have more control. Its because of the merch sales that keep super going. They are doing the bare minimal with the quality of the show to push merchandise because they feel db already has a name so they could push a shit quality show and push merch.
They screwed toriyama and told him what was going to do after he signed the contract.

Toyble is not the problem. More people are pleased with the manga. The only complaint is that it takes an entire month at a time for a new chapter with only 20 or so pages.
The anime is the problem. When you only animate 20 seconds of goku and vegitas training in the time chamber instead of displaying the ssb training.

Dunno about that. I haven't read the manga yet but from what I saw here it's very sudden just like that. Goku went SSJ in one page and beat Freeza right after for example. SSJ3 also never really had an origin scene with them showing Goku discovering it or anything like that. So I don't think we're getting an explanation.

I know this isn't related to Dragon Ball Super, but I just watched the Garlick Jr movie and a thought just came to me.
What if Dragon Ball Z didn't try to go for the Saiyan and Freezer ideas, but it tried to stick with the mystic overtones? What if Goku stayed a human being, Piccolo stayed a demon, Kami-Sama a god, etc.? Would you be interested in watching something like that? Goku fighting demons and deities? Well, from the scheduling chart its not hard to see why toriko failed. Toei had it aired when nobody would be home so it didnt even have a proper chance for the ratings.
They fucked it up and the last few episodes were awful........ And its been a pattern. The manga is good though.
I dont think toei realises if you put out garbage dont expect anything good in return.

In all honesty the anime does some better storytelling than the manga in a few cases. Especially the King Piccolo arc.
King Piccolo manga: Goku gets his ass beaten, Korin literally hands him a powerup, King Piccolo's takeover has no consequence, Tien's training with the Mafuba is useless because he cracked the jar.
King Piccolo anime: Goku has to earn the Ultra Divine Water through a test of resolve and pureness of heart, Tien actually almost traps King Piccolo with the Mafuba only for Drum to save his father at the last minute, Piccolo's announcement actually shows law breaking down on Earth, Eighter and Suno make an appearance. Hell, Suno's so distraught over the destruction King Piccolo is causing she picks up a dead soldier's rifle and tries to shoot the green fucker in the head, only for another soldier to save her life by drawing Piccolo's attention away from her.
Red Ribbon arc is generally better in the anime too, it makes them seem like more of a threat. And the true filler episodes totally fit in with the early Dragon Ball style, even the early appearances of Tien and Chiaotzu.
The manga clearly goes faster, but the anime actually fleshes shit out. Dragon Ball's filler is leagues better than Z's.

Since goku and vegeta have trained so much since red, their new power as blue is definitely higher than when goku turned red, but that's not by default.
