What I believe unites the people of this nation, regardless of race or region or party, young or old, rich or poor, is the simple, profound belief in opportunity for all - the notion that if you work hard and take responsibility, you can get ahead.

How many new cards per day in anki is a good number to not advance slowly nor get overwhelmed by the number of repetitions you'll get later on? Does it depends heavily on the person?

50 if you're the least beat serious about learning Japanese.
Getting overwhelmed by reps depends on how well you concentrate and remember them. 200 reps of words you can recall is better than having to handle 150 words you hardly remember.
Just make sure to ignore the again% and click again whenever you struggle. Then study those words in a cram session for maximum gains.

The beginning of Flyable Heart is really hard if it's your first native material (or close to it), but you get used to it and you can re-read it after your first route if you want. I hated the dad for the same reason towards the beginning, but I was able to keep up with him when reading the lines towards the end after finishing multiple routes.

未来は誰にも分からない。

I know that this phrase means "Nobody knows the future", but how does it mean that? Translating it literally with the grammar I know (I've only learned Tae Kim's basic grammar so far), it means "Who also knows the future" or something like that, it doesn't make sense.
>>
>>139503381
Open a new lesson, take all the new vocabulary, throw the shit into anki, spend two days with the new cards (first day learning and second day reviewing), then read said lesson. Review older lessons in the meantime.
>>
>>139503381
TK is one of those things that takes such a short time to complete compared to the full amount of time you're going to spend learning Japanese that it doesn't matter. Same as stuff like kana and stroke order.

Just hurry up and be done with it. If you're taking too long then do less anki (or even do none if you want). If you're going too fast through TK and want to slow down just a bit so you can absorb it more then do that.
Just don't spend forever on it. Once you finish then that's when the real game starts and you're in the same boat as 90% where you have to start acquiring vocab and doing reading practice.

>>139503552
if you want to be more literal about it "the future is unknown to anyone"

maybe just that by itself helps you make sense of にも otherwise just keep living your life until it makes sense conceptually regardless of trying to force it into an english translation literally bit for bit

They went through High School which covers a lot of the historical terminology we gaijin would struggle with.
Even if you lightly read 小説 you'll still come across 3,000 kanji pretty quickly (Muramasa uses 3,100)
Even natives would "struggle" with Muramasa, in the same sense that you or I would "struggle" reading any 詳しい work regarding something outside our field. Open up random physics pages on wikipedia and try your luck.

I don't suck in the normal sense. I got my permit. However, I space out and suddenly notice myself in the left lane, or else going way too fast. I make dumb mistakes, often, like double taking and swerving left by accident. I drove for over a year and came close to dying every time I got in the car. I swore off it after a call far too close. I'm not comfortable risking my life and others lives driving. I won't "get better" at spacing out or anything. And thats not even all of the problems with my driving I just dont want to rant about myself for too long.

Why ところ and not こと here? "Point"? "Location"? It doesn't seem to make sense.
>>
>>139519159
its referencing the state of things/situation
>>
>>139518882
You're meant to remember the pronunciation as well as the meaning, so having furigana on the front kind of defeats the purpose.

If you still want to have the pronunciation on the front then you can so tools>manage note types and edit them that way

What is DJT's opinion of meeting people in person for conversation?

I am not convinced this is a good use of time. If you can't say something or say something wrong, and dont get corrected (and record your correction for future use) then i dont think you can remember things.

Is there also a way to pace the conversation such that it touches on certain specific grammar at a certain time?

>>
>>139520633
No no, i just mean you want to make sure you cover grammar such that you dont miss anything.

If you always talk about the same things you will never see certain grammar structures appear.

I guess you could try to talk about different topics every time that are varied.

Hanahira guy here. I found this page which is super helpful since anyone reading Hanahira is bound to be a beginner.

http://wiki.yuriproject.net/wiki:hanahira

Basically, you can tell exactly where you are in the game by just finding your place in the script. I am right around 80% of the way through right now. I wonder if this sort of script dump is available for various other VNs, be it broken up like this or not?

Search terms for the archive: Hanahira length script visual novel far long where scene

I remember a few threads ago someone was asking if there was a way to only show untranslated VNs on VNDB. Did anyone figure out a way to do that or no?

Vocab wise literally whenever you want. You'll have to look up words anyway, doesn't matter if you've studied for a week or a year. Just depends on how patient you are.
As for grammar just the basic section in TK is enough for the often recommended starter VNs and Manga, but go for essential grammar if you don't want to guess.
