Just marathoned through the first 5 episodes of S1, when does it get good?
I understand that the scenario is dumb on purpose, but even so the jokes are hardly funny.
Are the following seasons better or is it justoverratedas a comedy?

Was planning to do S1 today but it's just too boring. And I'm not so hyped by the idea of having to go through a few seasons before starting to enjoy a series.

I can't remember when I started to like it, but before I knew it I fucking loved it. Possibly towards the end of S1, I loved S2 but S3 and the new season were both terrible. If the Milkies don't lose their toys at the beginning of whatever it is, then it's guaranteed to be shit.

I thought episodes 4 and 5, when they dumped the serious drama about losing their powers and focused 100% on comedy were already funny. If you aren't enjoying the show by this point, I don't think you'll enjoy it later.
The 2nd season does get EVEN more random, throwing away established characterization at any point for humor, but I don't think it changes enough to make someone who dislikes season 1 enjoy it.

The 3rd season (Futari Wa) isn't really a comedy at all.
The 4th season (TD) is more comedic again, although not as much as the first two seasons.

Yes, it's by the season 1 staff and even reuses the whole "faces phantom thieves and lose their toys plot". Also, characters from TD only make silent cameos.

Marathon can also mean you watched at 1x speed. Once you get used to watching stuff at like 1.5 or 3x, or even 4x, watching at 1x feels really slow and kind of draining, like a marathon.
