Part 1 and 2 had minor cuts to fit everything, Stardust Crusaders had a little extra time so it added scenes instead. Looks like this will be the same.
I really, really dislike the overall color scheme and animation of this one. Part 4 is the one most grounded into reality: Morioh is the perfect little 70's American town, even though it's in Japan. I was waiting for a clean black and white feel, with dim, cleanly cut colours, with lot of cool shading. Exactly like the colored manga.
Instead I got cleanly cut flashy colours with no shading whatsoever. This style transforms Morioh into a clown circus.

It's a shame. The style of middle Part 4, with and without colours, is my favourite of all the Jojo. I fell in love with Morioh somewhere just before the story went to shit. The style of the city and the characters are exceptional. I can almost feel the 60's-70's urban America, with rock and roll and young with attitudes.

Nah they're all perfectly fine in BW, I read BW my first time through. Colours is a fun way to reread it and maybe appreciate things from a different angle, but it's not necessary. Part 6 coloured is actually one of the best to read in colour since I had a bit of difficulty towards the end in figuring out what was happening in some panels. It was announced in October I think. It probably wasn't contracted for them to make it and they were waiting for BD sales numbers to determine whether to go ahead with Diamond is Unbreakable.
