I've read a fair bit of shonen anon, I can honestly say that I have NEVER read any other shonen MC being as retarded as Deku is right.
Sure, the MC rescuing his friend held captive somewhere is a fairly common trope, but the author actually makes an effort in thoses situations to justify the character's action. For example, by making them the only one able to do it (either because of time restraints or because the MC is already part of the elite of the good guy's team in the setting).
BnHA is the only manga I can think of where the author just thought "Fuck it, I'll just have them aknowledge that they're driven by their egos" and got done with it. The arc can be redeemed however if there are actuals consequences for their action. All Might dying is a given so it won't come off as a surprise to anyone, and Deku isn't going to lose his arm because the author is too pussy to actually do it, so maybe I'll get surprised.

The reason the rescue mission thing bugs people is because this is supposed to be a world mostly similar to ours. Outside of the superpowers these are supposed to be students and not secret mafia family members or mages in a guild that regularly burns down whole towns on accident or assassin trainees under a tentacle monster. They don't really get a convenient method of ass-covering.
There's laws and shit; heroes/quirks are strictly regulated, these kids are students, a big part of being a hero is cooperating with the police and obeying the law, etc.
It just doesn't make too much sense really.
But oh well, it's happening anyway. This chapter was fun, the rescue thing will probably be good, maybe All Might will actually die. We'll get over it because the result will likely be worth reading. I'm certainly still reading.

Are people still mad about the whole Deku trying to save Bakugou thing? Horikoshi been stating this since chapter 1 that being a hero isn't about the smart thing to do but about the right thing to do. Like how Bakugou got kidnap by the monster in chapter 1 and Deku rush to save him despite having no quirk. Practically everyone gave him shit for it except for All Might who praise him for it so of course when the same thing happen now Deku would choose to go and rescue him.
Is it dumb decision, yes but the manga already made it clear it wasn't a smart choice.
Is it out of character? No, it something Deku will 100% do and would be complete opposite of his character if he didn't go and try rescue him.

This is just a personal theory, but I think Deku's acting primarily out of fear.
What was life like for Deku before All Might commended him for putting himself forward back? He had no friends, no quirk, his neighbour kid bullies him constantly, he's looked down by his social circle, and he was quite literally told to commit suicide.
His meeting with All Might finally gave him a new identity that he dreamed of all his childhood. He acquires a quirk, has friends, and even his pejorative nickname now means something else. If he doesn't keep trying to uphold that identity, he goes back to being the quirkless, friendless, and meaningless Deku he was before.
Deku's damaged. He's like a junkie who can't stop doing what he's doing.

I think it's more that he's the representative of true altruistic heroism in the class.

Horikoshi however doesn't simply paint it as being this perfect thing- he constantly pounds home the fact that while it's certainly inspiring and they do save everyone, it's at the cost of their own lives and makes the people who really care about them suffer.
The cost of altruistic heroism, and the whole "my body moved on its own"/save everyone no matter what/zero hesitation stuff is that you live a short and painful life.
Midoriya's mom went from being ecstatic that he got into UA to this chapter asking him to withdraw. And Midoriya turned her down.
I imagine he'll see the big picture when All Might dies. I doubt Horikoshi will be as cruel as to have his closest friends or love interest eventually distance themselves from him to avoid being hurt by his self-destructive tendencies.

She wanted money to give her sisters a better life, but because Momon didn't delve deeper into their individual reasons, he just lumped them all into "greedy thieves" category and killed them outright.
Here's my question: Why aren't the police up there apologizing with the UA people?
If you go back, many of the precautions they took after the USJ attack were at the behest of the police. The police helped UA harden their security, and it was a collective idea to change the camp location and not take much staff to avoid being conspicuous.
I've never been a big fan of the Japanese face-saving stuff. I don't mean like in this manga or in fiction in general, but rather in Japanese culture. It doesn't really seem to address problems- and encourages sweeping shit under the rug.

Aizawa is a teacher, plus a suitable one for practice classes. Stopping the quirk is a good thing to avoid injury in school process, and he is not the one to call the shots about defence tactics.
