I would really love to see a Madhouse adaptation of it. Beautiful animation, amazing backgrounds, terrific score, stellar voice acting, and wonderful mood and tone. It would be greatand then just like every other amazing Madhouse series, it will only sell 600 copies and be a critical financial failure and be ignored by most people in favor of some edgy shounen or bubbly moeshit, like always

Considering Otoyomegatari is Kadokawa's property, it's possible that at some point they hired Madhouse to adapt it. Though, I don't really know if they could pull it of.
