Yeah I felt like that tied up all the strands of how Yashiro was talking about Satoru seeing the future better than in the anime. I also loved the part where Yashiro 'smiled' in the manga conclusion so I'd like the think that Manga Yashiro found some peace in the end.

Why do people think the 15 year coma is that bad? Let's say he didn't go into a coma. What do you expect? For him to go back to his regular life and live happily. No, there was nobody around, sensei would have kidnapped him, took him to his home or move somewhere far and then fuck him every night until Satoru ends up with Stockholm syndrome. He wouldn't even die because Sensei would be obsessed with him. Sensei would make sure to keep him healthy by feeding him well.

It's not, he's already lived through the previous timeline.

Satoru is closely connected enough to his friends that Yashiro would have a lot of difficulty disguising the fact that he's dead. Maybe he could position it so it appears that his mum kills him but that's unlikely because Kayo and the rest all know that his mother wouldn't kill him. Furthermore, let's just say he moves out into the middle of nowhere, where's he going to get food? It's not like 1988 is the most modern place and inevitably Satoru's 'intuition' - the part of him that makes him attractive to Yashiro - might go back to where it came from and then he's left with a useless and boring child.
Yashiro staying in the town is fairly well respected. He's a teacher and he's good enough in the fifteen years to make friends with the head of the hospital.
Furthermore, although Satoru might not be in a coma, he's probably still in direct need of medical help and would still probably end up in hospital after Yashiro presumably pulls him out. Under that many eyes it would also be difficult to Yashiro to extricate him. If he ended up conscious, he might escape and even if he didn't escape he could get out via revival again making him useless to Yashiro.
Then let's say Yashiro takes him to his home. Children can be quite noisy, presumably Satoru would need to be sedated. Either he gets out via revival and Yashiro no longer likes him or he ends up killing Yashiro.
Yashiro strikes me as the kind of guy who likes his prey free range. He was willing to wait 15 years to kill Satoru and it would probably be no fun if Satoru was bested so easily. He'd most likely kill Satoru on the spot.

Probably. It's the same with most other things regarding Sensei's past. That he didn't kill anyone to get to his current position, unlike in the manga, was confirmed in episode 12 so maybe other stuff was different as well as long as it wasn't explicitly stated. I kinda even prefer the skipping of his past with the brother to some degree. I like it for the manga version, but generally I am not a fan of explanations for psychopathy, especially since most murderers who are wired like that don't really have some event in the past that made them that way. If they had gone into Yashiro's past then the fastest way for Satoru to 'fix' the present would be to change Yashiro's past whereas if there were many, many events that instigated Yashiro being a psychopath then perhaps the plothole of why he didn't just alter Yashiro rather than the events would go unnoticed. Airi is needed to give weight to Satoru's future. A mistake all "Thrown into another world" anime make is that they either start directly in the 'other world' or they make the jump in the first ten minutes.
How am I supposed to care that he's abandoned the real world if it's barely shown at all? Why would I care that he's gone if I haven't seen a single friend there, a single reason for which it would be a 'shock' that he's possibly stuck there?
Airi's function is being an anchor. She's in the future, she's waiting for him. When he comes back, she's there to help. When 19 years of history are erased, his entire relationship with her, the heartfelt talks they've shared, none of that ever happened.
But he remembers it.
If Airi and the store manager hadn't been there there wouldn't have been a single reason to lament the lost history. What else would have anyone have cared about?
