The manga is awesome. It's fucking dumb but it makes my middle schooler dick so hard I just need more. The author has actually planned quite a lot of parts of the plot since the beginning so it's very well constructed for a battle manga, and the powers obviously are a big part of the show. Anime is only 1 cour so it understandably had to compress and cut out a lot of flashbacks/exposition. I don't really understand all the hate for it when it comes to the pacing, which in itself is honestly more a problem with the way the manga is written than the way it was adapted. They'd literally be spending half or more of the season on earth establishing backstories than getting you into the action at all.

Far more tactfully done than anything encountered in the first three episodes or any other show that has to use intense censoring along the same vein. And even then it's basically the only instance in the rest of the show that could even be considered marginally objectionable.
