Koontz is one of my favorite. I've been reading him for well over 15 years now. It doesn't help that you can read any of his books in a span of a few hours though. I will give you the moralfag bullshit but Night Chills and Phantoms were some of the most fun I've had reading.

I think Junji Ito's adaption of Mary Shelley's Franskenstein's Monster is one of the best things he's done.
To me the thing that really shines about Junji Ito's work is his art. For the most part his stories tend to get way too wacky. Which is why I love this so much, serious from beginning to the end, with art that really justifies how horrifying Frankenstein's monster really is to behold.
