This. It's way more popular and sells very well, topping charts every week it comes out. It's funny and silly while Barakamon has dragged on for too long. Barakamon has more heart and it's better, but it also got redundant. There's only so much "creativity" drama and artistic self confidence that you can milk. Meanwhile, Handa-kun is just really goddamn funny and sells well with casuals in nipland.

I personally hated Barakamon but loved Handa-kun. It's really bizarre humor and a formula that works. Plus, it ends after the next volume, so it's obvious it won't drag on until it gets unfunny. I think it will make a great anime.

Favorite chapter of Handa-kun is definitely the Dash chapter, where a guy completely retcons his history with Handa as his rival and accuses Handa of using steroids for beating him in running before. This is the chapter where he gets violated by the dog...in a way that is indirectly Handa's fault. It's fucking hilarious.
I also love the chapter with the ugly Handa impostor. Was losing my shit reading it.

That's because Handa-kun is better than Barakamon, OP. It's even way more popular in Japan.
Handa-kun is ridiculous and funny, full of dumb humor, and full of girls and guys lusting after Handa's cock as he contemplates how lonely he is. He's also just a better character in this series, he still had that spark of assholeishness in him, but was also pure.
Favorite chapter is when Handa gets amnesia and begins hitting on a bunch of girls, scaring them off. His boy-harem gets so upset with his change of personality that they try to chase him with hammers and beat his head in to get him back. Of course Handa gets his memory back during all of this and just realizes he's being chased with hammers by students and thinks about how hated he is.
Only read 3-5 chapters but I didnt like it.
