Why did the Bleach anime stop 4 years ago?
It was bad. Bleach is the least popular of the big 3 by far so there's not enough people willing to watch endless filler arcs

It could have something to do with the network that was showing Bleach.

Because the anime team for Bleach is a bit more intelligent, than the anime team for Naruto or One Piece. The anime was only a few chapters away from the Manga. They had to do another filler arc and an extremely long one to boot. Another filler arc after the awefull Gotei invasion arc and the not so popular Fullbring arc. And that Filler arc would need to be at least as long as the Bount arc. We would get then barely 26 episodes of canon until they needed to create fillers again. The Naruto manga is already over and there are still filler.
Or they would do it like One piece and do a third of a chapter per episode. That's already bad with One Piece. But imagine doing that with a Bleach chapter. Bleach chapters have already much less content.
Cancelling the Bleach anime is the best that could've happened. If the anime comes back once the manga finishes, one can watch the enitre final arc without fillers.

I always prefer filler arcs instead of stretching out chapters. At least you can always skip whole filler arcs if needed, but when half a chapter if stretched out to a whole episode it make the whole thing unwatchable. Can't believe there are still people who watch the one piece anime. I mean I hate myself a whole lot but I'd never make myself suffer thru that shit.
