Just finished watching Gate. I loved the character progression throughout the show. I'd love some recommendations for similar shows.
If you haven't seen Gate it's basically Ichigo invades Japan, but Sakura loves Naruto instead.
Then all of them fight over the dragon balls for 7 days. At the end of the 7 days they're all given government issued gundams.
They all go to a mech-fighting arena and the winner gets in a relationship with their childhood friend.
In the end they all get added to the student council.

Loved that whole episode. The part before where Satsuki fought for Lelouch's sister. It was really touching.
