It does fall in the trope of the MC being too dense to realize their feelings at times, and the plot feels like it doesn't progress due to this, but it does provide with quite a few moments that really reach the audience.
For me, it gave me a fresh perspective into BDSM and what it can accomplish.

Japan's doesn't. Most east asian cultures include the suitor working for the bride's family for a certain period of time before they get to really date, and even then PMS is not allowed.
