Read the manga.
There is nothing particular wrong with the anime but it felt so stiff and they toned down the humor.

Wait, this got an anime?
I read the manga a while ago and remember enjoying it up until the part where they started their second series. It got a lot worse from that point on and just kinda dragged on.
