The goku he was battling wasn't just end of DBZ goku, this was Goku after he probably got powerful enough to fight evenly with Beerus in normal form. He was likely holding back against Uub, but even still, Uub held his own pretty good.
The point with Uub is that he has untold potential. Majin Buu itself had potential to become God-tier with the whole absorption thing. Hell, maybe it didn't even need to absorb a God Ki user? We've already been shown that Buu can EASILY replicate a technique via just looking at it. Kid Buu could probably somehow replicate God Ki. He did absorb some Kais afterall, and Kais have both normal ki and God Ki.
Damn, all these theories are really making me reevaluate Buu's power. He may still have been the greatest threat towards the universe. And yeah, I know that Fat Buu never replicated God Ki, but you have to remember that at that point, he was all good. It's possible that it's the pure evil side that could only replicate shit.

I suppose the idea is, you learn the body of SSG, and then you are able to channel that ability into the SSJ form. After mastering it, you can then put God Ki in it to make it SSGSS.
So, SSJ Goku and Vegeta are noticeably stronger than SSJ3 Goku would be, so how the fuck would a newly transformed Cabba stand a fucking chance in hell against even SSJ Vegeta? Makes no sense.

That's true, but I believe SSJ is supposed to be a flat 50x multiplier. It's true that SSJ3 is supposed to be 8x SSJ, but now that Goku and Vegeta understand the god form, my guess is, their base is being pushed to its limit(much stronger than it used to be), so the 50x multiplier for SSJ makes SSJ so powerful that trying to power up to another level, SSJ2 or SSJ3, these levels simply don't exist anymore for them. They've reached every inch of their power. The general idea now, as Whis alluded to, is it's not a "strength" thing as much as it's all about ability now. Learning how to fight without thinking. They've maxed their pure strength more or less.
So, it's still the case that, Vegeta, who is basically as strong as you can possibly be, would wipe the floor with Cabba, who has never experienced the power of SSG even. He should probably even be able to do it at base.

I'm gonna level with you guys. I don't hate the wacky comedy shit, I've watched enough kids shows to be okay with that. I don't mind the terrible animation, I've watched enough from Toei to be okay with that too.
I just hope we get at least ONE serious arc. Not even fully serious, just a bit. This tournament so far just seems to be one big pisser, which I wouldn't mind if I had the comfort of knowing we'd get just one arc like the DBZ arcs.
