But let’s be real here, even if all those things did happen, does anyone honestly think that these people would accept the pairing?
They show great concern for each other and always want to be by each other’s side. People against it will just call it a beautiful friendship/platonic relationship between two characters who clearly like the D.
Historia professes her love for Ymir (which she vaguely did already in chapter 50). Those against the ship will either continue to say that she loves her like her sister or that the relationship is still “toxic.”
They kiss. Those people will say that it’s just a “girl thing,” all girls readily kiss their friends.
Ymir and Historia both clearly say that they’re gay (both have already alluded to in some way that they’re “not interested” in men). People will say that they obviously must be bi and point to all the romantic interactions that don’t exist between them and other male characters whom neither Ymir or Historia have had nearly as much interacting and relationship building with as they did with each other.
They have sex. (In very. Graphic. Detail.) People will deny it and say that [Insert Male Here] is so much better for Ymir/Historia because he either has a one-sided crush, they look like each other, have had minimal interactions that “clearly point to attraction and chemistry,” or simply because he is the MC and MCs get the hot girl.
None of these things happening with Ymir and Historia will change these people’s minds. But whatever, our ship is getting attention from the creator, the anime team, the marketing team, and the manga story itself and is, as far as I am concerned, canon. While their ships are still nothing more than crack and will continue to be crack ships long after the manga has ended and the anime is completed. So honestly, I couldn’t give less of a shit about how they feel/what they think about YumiKuri.
