Why is this show so appreciated by /a/?
The characters, with the exception of Kousaka, are completely genertic and the plot could be easily written by a 6 year old schoolgirl.
Of course the animation is beautiful and Slacky -chan is best girl, but Sound! is not a good anime at all.

I wouldn't necessarily say it's bad but just boring/mediocre. For some reason /a/ likes to think KyoAni shows are goat and represent the "core" of anime.
Which is really not true at all. They're good but there is better studios out there doing more ambitious things.

That's not true. I'm pretty sure the consensus of /a/ only truly praises certain things from KyoAni, i.e. K-On!, Disappearance, TSR, Hyouka, and I guess Hibike now too.
