My guess is maybe some made up Guts helping some random village for 4 episodes so he becomes notorious and draws the attention on Farnese squad. Then 20 episodes of Conviction and last episode is Griffith resurrection.

Make it 4 and a half, if you start from 118 and end in 171-176.
Golden age old anime did 80 manga chapters in 24 eps roughly and cut a lot of things. Like the savage monkey bulbasaur plant dick after rescuing Grifith.
New anime is 24 eps, and Conviction is 60 chapters just from Enter The Farnese to Mozguz Defeated.
I think Isidro gets introduced in 146. "Ambition Boy" (野望少年 "Yabō Shōnen"?).
I don't know, my math makes me feel Conviction could fill a good chunk of 15 episodes at least. That leaves too little for both BlackS and Children in the new production.

So, theories on what will happen before it ends?
Right now this is what I am thinking... Casca will be restored. She'll have one of her episodes with Guts where she tries to kill him again, but on a much more severe level. Over time on the island, she will come around to him, but they will disagree: Guts will want to stay on the island and Casca will want to go and overthrow Griffith. Casca initiates the attack and leaves the island first (kinda like Casca making the first move on Caesar in Shakespeare's play).
Guts has a bit of an inner journey, and realizes that he needs to get off his ass and finish what he started, finally, when he set off from the Band of the Hawk — which is to become Griffith's equal, stand up for his own "kingdom", his own way, and fulfill their rivalry in a final duel once and for all. Then we'll get to see a badass finale against the Neo Band of the Hawk and Guts's group.
And then... the way it ends... I think Griffith will "give up" his kingdom. The faint beating of his heart after he reappears and sees Guts fighting Zodd is what suggests this to me. Also, the story is heavily based on Nietzsche, who loved the eternal recurrence; I think Griffith will see the value in letting himself fall, because he knows that everything will rise again (also a theme present in the movie Excalibur which Miura obviously loved) and what he really loved in the end was the rising, not the goal itself.

Most of the stuff, especially golden age are based on ~15th century central Europe. Then we have Kushans that are based on Kushans obviously, so we have motifs from India. I even remember there being a statue of Maha Kali.
Then Virtannis seems to be similar to Italy in later periods, I'd guess somewhere around 17th or maybe even 18th century.
Then we have Elfheim with plenty of Celtic motifs.
We also have the ruins of Gaiserc city that are based off Rome.
So there are plenty of many inspirations in Berserk, perhaps I've missed some, these are just off the top of my head.

What's wrong with hating GC exactly. Most of it looks very off putting, especially when placed next to 2d characters and backgrounds. It also ages horribly and within two years or so it looks dated. 2d artwork can actually stand the test of time, it's only the styles that can look dated. Point well made. Indeed she really is the only one who saw all of the carnage. Having her be the cause or partially the cause of Griffiths' downfall will be preferable to simple forgiveness. But it is still. This is a necessary transitional phase we're in, where both Guts and Griffith are going through their own transformations (and as we can see, they are both just about finished with this transformation, which is why I think the rivalry will pick up again after the elf island).

I would say that Berserk is based on a number of Western philosophical insights first, and Miura just found some fitting historical events to take advantage of in demonstrating those insights. Honestly, I don't think any kind of animated adaptation will ever be satisfactory. I am not saying this because this and previous adaptations have been flawed to some extent; it's because Berserk works much better as a manga than as an anime unless there are some major changes as to how certain scenes are done.
Most manga doesn't have the level of use of the actual art of graphic novels the way comics do. Rather it's just visual help to see what's going on. As a result the anime version of a lot of things just turn out to be better because it can do that better. But with Berserk that doesn't count as much because Miura is as much a genius of using the art to portray things as much as he's a good writer. There are so many moments in Berserk where nothing is exactly being said, and there isn't too much action happening either, but at the same time a lot of emotion and depth is portrayed through how the panel was drawn. That kind of thing only exists within the graphic novel medium and won't translate as well to animation unless the same moment is done differently in a way animation specializes in showing it.
