So uh I think I fucked up. I started (and finished) the first season of stardust crusaders. I thought that was where you started. (Which appears to be wrong)
My understanding is that it really won't detract or anything from my story, but i should probably go back and watch the first stuff first.
So what do I watch? The 2012 anime series? I haven't been able to find subs of it on nyaa although I might just be looking wrong. Apparently the 2012 series puts parts 1 and 2 (which is before what I watched) in one anime if I am reading the pastebin right?

Season 1 of the anime is Part 1, Season 2 is Part 2 etc.
Go watch the first 26 episodes of the anime, they're really good.
Part 2 is a lot of people's favorite part in general, and the way they handled the campyness of the first part in the anime is flawless.
