It's a copypasta alluding to the Oreomo episode. In truth, no one knows when and if there will be a second season.
However, chances for it are good, because yes, the anime disc sales were okay, and the spin-off as well as merchandise does lend to a higher chance of the sponsors being willing to finance a new season at some point of the future for new merchandise and manga promotion.
This show really weirds me out when I imagine hamster umaru as full-size umaru crawling around like a baby and acting autistic.
