Good writing and a solid grasp of laying out action between panels. Compare his fight scenes to the equivalent Murata chapters and notice how all Murata does is draw it better, it's the same content otherwise.

I just assume that people who say they read the webcomic are just bad at lying or else they read shitty western /co/mics and as such they think this is alright.

Why would they lie? If you want to see ahead of the story without the excessive extra content in the manga you read the webcomic. The art is awful sure but it's endearing in a way. ONE still is very good at composition, like someone mentioned earlier a lot of the time Murata just draws the exact same thing just better. I was re-reading the Garou VS Tanktop Master chapters and both versions are pretty much identical.

Nah, Togashi's art adds plenty of value to the storytelling. A grand total of 7 HxH volumes were scribbles that got redrawn, true, but the rest is at least on par with most weekly series with the added bonus of nice composition and panelling skills. ONE has the same bonus but without the conventional artistic talent Togashi has.

It's a good thing. Sometimes ONE's version is too shallow and elliptical it makes heroes and monsters look like they're nothing. I like murata extending the fights and giving side characters moments to shine. (But not the obvious dragging ones like garou arc fights.)

Murata changes fights plenty. One understands how to use comics to show action clearly better than some pros, but that alone doesn't make his art good.
That said it's a webcomic he can do whatever the fuck he wants.

My guess is that there are lots of anons who don't usually read manga, just entry level stuff like Berserk and Vagabond. So they think their level of quality/detail is the standard for manga art, and factors other than polish don't matter.
