Yes, the Dutch and Portuguese had pretty extensive contact with the Ming dynasty, though in the case of the Dutch this was hardly a positive one and ended in them getting rather humiliatingly expelled from Taiwan. They did let the Portuguese establish a port, and eventually a colony, at Macao, though.

Dutch would make a lot of sense since the cannon they reverse-engineered off of them were called "hong yi pao", or "red-haired barbarian cannon" which ties in quite nicely with Nanashi.
