I think the problem with yuri in general is that it's fucking boring.

No girl is going to blush and hit a girl like she is going to blush and hit a guy. Look at any yuri, it instantly turns into hand holding and kissing. A harem involves anxiety dynamic where guy has to be 100% afraid of accidentally showing affection for the girls in order to create a no pairing situation that allows the harem to exist in the first place. And with a female harem she has no reason to do this and whats stopping the harem from pairing with each other since the MC isn't special (other gender) anymore?

However there is the fact that its 3-7 girls out of however many that have picked this guy and there are other girls who are not picking the guy.
Just saying that it's not really a clear harem unless you make it clear that the MC is being chosen as the MC for some sort of reason. In a straight one at least you can be lazy and leave it to 'he is a guy and they are all girls' but in a yuri one you'd need to make the MC special literally somehow or else it feels contrived.
