There are any number of side effects that could let they see through your plans. Maybe they can detect intentions, or hear what you're saying on your ship, or see through feints, or sense oncoming attacks. You don't have to think "maybe they have someone who can see all possible futures and their branch points", you just have to think "maybe that have someone who can get a bit of information."

That's what I've gathered I think. There are also complaints about Ashihara's artstyle (mainly the faces) and that characters don't tend to be very emotional. And, of course, there are complaints about the main character being a pansy.

I don't think these are so much death flags as setting up Border being hit hard by something Jin's predictions can't deal with. Ashihara's made a point of giving Jin's predictions some weaknesses. As Jin talked about with Osamu, sometimes landing the best future is a high risk, high return endeavor. And Galopoula still has one member that Jin hasn't seen, meaning he can't directly predict what that one member will do.
And Galopoula isn't limited to attacking the away ship. They're just under orders to attack Medeen. Destroying the away ship was simply the best option they could come up with to fulfill their orders, while not pissing off Medeen too much. If the away ship is too well protected, they could attack other parts of the base, attack branches, or attack the city. Plenty of room in that for Jin's predictions to fall through.
Remember, Border's goal in this attack is to keep the invasion low key, so that civilians won't start panicking. Doing something like having the operator of the trion soldiers take them into the city to just destroy buildings, while the rest of the group moved to attack HQ again, would blindside Jin, and put Border in a hard place.

The rank wars are quite possibly the finest training arc I've seen. We get to actually see Osamu, Chika, and Yuma developing as a team, and building up their skill set from fairly sparse, to something more versatile. At the same time, it's fleshing out the other Border agents, and providing various additional bits of information. It's also got a couple side plots going on with Chika's brother coming up again, and Hyuse seeking a way back to Aftokrator. Plus the Galopoula invasion has served as a nice interlude to give us some fights with some higher stakes, and give the higher ranked members some screen time.

It has a really weak beginning. World Trigger takes quite a long time to hit its stride, and before it does it's just terrible.
It also doesn't help that the artist is pretty bad at drawing faces. It's hard to appreciate the nuances of someone's character when the only expressions they ever make are ( ｰ̀εｰ́ ) or (~_~;) or maybe ((ﾟ□ﾟ;)) for special occasions.

Not gonna lie. It's like AssClass where I unironically enjoy both series, appreciate the bit characters' roles in the story, and find the subdued personalities to be refreshing, yet I really can't bring myself to give a damn about 75% of the supporting cast.
I won't argue with people who criticize the faces, since I think a good chunk of the cast looks emotionally constipated. I guess, depending on your taste, they can come across as "battle hardened" instead or something.

The simple answer is that WT is different compared to other shonen, and people don't like different if they don't understand it, and if they don't understand it their default nature is to hate on it.
The long answer is that a lot of shonen readers read it for the MC, which they get attached to. Most simply cannot attach themselves to Osamu, and seeing as how he gets wrecked most of the time I can't blame them. A lot of people read manga for the escapism after all. And due to this they can't be bothered to continue reading on and discovering that Osamu isn't only the MC.
Ashihara's style of writing is also very logical, and that reflects onto his characters' personalities and outer appearances. Many readers read shonen for the hype, and while WT has it, the logical nature of this hype is very different than what most people are used to, which circles back to the simple answer.
I actually like Ashihara's faces. The stupid duck faces makes reading this series relaxing.

Yuma can see through lies. Again, we don't really know it's limits but it's possible he could see through something like Reghi's feint.

Yuuma's lie detector works on spoken words only, or so we've seen. If he had been in front of Reghi when he did any of his BS and declared his bluffs, Yuuma would've seen through it.
As for Chika, her side effect is indeed somewhat mysterious. Not sure if it's danger sensing or trion reading or what.

The vast majority of the time, shounen doesn't have credible mortal threats, as few mangaka are willing to kill off major characters, much less main characters. Not really. Technically Osamu "stole" Izumi's "kill" during the invasion when he used Chika's trion to blast the rabbit Izumi was fighting. Rather than being annoyed about "his" kill being stolen Izumi thought it was awesome. That's true in more general terms as well. If you look around and see your fellow Border agent is fighting an enemy, and you have the opportunity to shoot that enemy in the back, you shoot them in the back and bring the fight to a much swifter, and more certain conclusion. Kill stealing in the rank wars only encourages such "dishonorable" yet practical behavior.

You've got to to consider the other side of it though. The rank wars don't just encourage kill-stealing, then encourage keeping enemies to yourself and doing everything you can to prevent others from getting kills. It teaches you to enjoy kill-stealing yourself, while hating kill-stealing in others.

Another example would be Zoe's set up right after he was shot by Ninomiya. Technically Yuma and Azuma "stole" two of Kage's potential kills. But you have to admit, the way they instantly took advantage of the situation is quite impressive.

The thing is, the rank wars almost require you to work as a team, lest you get chewed up and spit out by teams with better teamwork. So agents also get plenty of experience in supporting their teammates, and setting enemies up for their teammates to easily take them down. Especially teams with snipers where it's pretty much standard practice to be getting some fire support against an enemy.
So a fellow Border agent picking off an enemy your fighting isn't going to be unusual, and odds are decent it'll be someone on your squad as usual as well.

There are other teams.
If he gets 3 that leaves 3 that are still fighting. There are 6 against them at all times and I have no doubts that Osamu and Chika will be taken out in this match. Without support it'll be more difficult for Yuuma to finish off Kakizaki Squad at least since, if Tokieda is to be believed, their tenacity is really impressive (having no one bail out during the invasion is no joke, and they technically fought against a humanoid neighbor).
I'm sure all of Katori will get taken out whether or not Yuuma has support. I'm betting on 4 for certain with Yuuma being unable to finish off the last two members of Kakizaki.

I doubt Kakizaki's squad will survive. While Katori is just flat out unprepared, and just begging to get blown out by Tamakoma-2 and Kakizaki, Kakizaki's squad is noted for being overly cautious. Which wouldn't be too bad a thing, except that T-2 is about to debut Osamu setting traps, and Chika using an unheard of trigger configuration. So either that'll make them hesitate too much, or they'll be trying to avoid being overly cautious and fall victim to the unexpected tactics. At best they'll have someone manage to bail out to avoid giving up points.
So I figure something more like
Katori: 0
Kakizaki: 1 to 2
Tamakoma: 5 to 7
With Tamakoma not having any bail outs.
Katori will lose one or two to Kakizaki, and the rest to Tamakoma-2 without scoring any points. Kakizaki will lose at least a couple members to Tamakoma-2, and unless the last one bails out, they'll lose all three.

Which chapters does sensei most like and spend the most time on?
A: There are two chapters, chapter 79 and chapter 85. Chapter 79 was the climax of the large scale invasion, and I had already planned out what I was going to draw, however in the end the story took off in a complete different direction from what I had planned, but it still progressed naturally, for which I am grateful for. Chapter 85 was during the time when I couldn't move my body at all due to my neck problems, and I had designed that chapter to be the last chapter of this series, so it stirs up some deep emotions within me when I go back to read it.

Remember, black triggers reflect the personality of their creator, and require a compatible user. So attempting to mass produce black triggers doesn't guarantee the creation of black triggers you can use. It's entirely possible you'd end up with a bunch of black triggers that can only be used by someone that's insane, or hates your guts, or is loyal to a specific(rival) country or family, or who only serves themselves.
In short, there's probably a lot of ways that forcing someone to make a black trigger can go wrong, so most people just wait for someone to willingly an hero for their country.

Explanations for the Different Factors in the Character Sheets
>Trigger Set
Shows the Triggers that each agent has in the 8 slots of their Trigger handle. Free slots are used to set Triggers based on conditions of a battle.
*Bagworm Tag almost doesn't use Trion at all, but the cost of it is that once setting this Trigger, the other slots on the same side will be unable for use.

All of this results from the fact that they don't die if they lose. Characters affected by the mortality of war (like Jin, Miwa, Kazama, and any Neighbors) all act much differently from those who haven't necessarily lost something. Furthermore there are many characters who simply can't deal with "killing" trion bodies, we just don't focus on most of them because this is a battle manga.
