The impressions from Kotetsujo no Kabaneri's screenings keep coming.

>It's a bit erotic/lewd!
>It's fun to see Mumei kills everything
>I'm sad because I have to wait until the end of April to keep watching.
>Sawano's work is far beyond his average!
>A lot of talking
>All the female characters look good!
>It was scary
>I wonder how many people died to animate this
>OP and ED don't fit the show
>Mixed audience (male and female of all age, not just otaku or fujoshi)
>That samurai with a sword is "nippon banzai" at its strongest
>>

Yes, from people who reasonably post rather then hyping this up nonstop, especially the event in episode 3 that made everyone scream VVV.
>>
>>138914853
What kind of event?
>>
>>138914853
From what I read the story barely started in the prescreening and episode 3 ends with a cliffhanger. The valvrave comparison is due to some characterd beîng infected and displaying powers related to the zombies (regeneration I think)

It's either going to be the best anime of the year or complete shit.

Kabaneri are people who are bitten by Kanbane but didn't turned. Kanbane's main energy source is blood. In PV3, you see Ayame stabbing Ikoma, but this is as they were going to board the train, and Ayame trying to ease the passengers' fear. At the end of episode 3 though, Ikoma is trying to "feed" off Ayame, hence the VVV comparison.
>>
>>138918911
Even the japs themselves are afraid.

>>
>>138923392
There's no strategist in this though, also "Saki" is not the MC. Mumei's the main along with Ikoma, which is why Ayame and Ikoma's position's just as good parallel to Saki and Haruto.

>>138923399
That's why people really want to see Episode 4 to see where the direction is going, Episode 3 ended with that cliffhanger. Episode 1 and 2 are just fast pacing with lots of fights.

It's all Aniplex controlled publicity so I doubt there will be

I really hope Araki make an actually good anime this time, I always like his action directing but he fucks over schedules easily and then there's the shit sources or writters

I don't think he's going for DEEP STORY in this one, just action flick with zombies/ghouls, so this might just work out. Frankly, I'll be watching this for Mikimoto girls (Araki went through great lengths to enlist him).

According to the interview (Mikimoto's), Araki basically visited Mikimoto bringing a ton of Mikimoto's past artbook/chara design/etc. with him, some of which Mikimoto himself doesn't even remember. Mikimoto thought he won't get involved with another project anymore, but he was touched by this.

From Araki's interview, they wanted Mikimoto but even the producers went, "is he gonna accept though?" Once Mikimoto did, the project was able to pick up pace.

/a/, and 4chan in general lately have had this weird Kafka trap going on.

1. You must admit the show you like is bad. It doesn't matter if you enjoy it, you must concede if someone else doesn't like it. Just because you like a show doesn't make it good. If another person doesn't like a show, that makes it bad, and if you enjoy the show, you must admit it's a bad show. There is nothing wrong with you liking a show, but you absolutely have to admit it's a bad show, just since another person doesn't like it.

2. Once they have you trapped in that one, they pull out the other trap. "Liking show ironically." Now if you do like a show that's bad (And again remember from the first condition if even one person, just one says they don't like the show, it means the show is bad, no you can't defend the show or ask why it's bad, you can only concede that you like a bad show), you can like the show "ironically." Since the show is bad, you can like the show because of how bad it is, and it turns around and becomes "so bad it's good." And of course, even though this is the only way allowed to like a show, it's considered a inferior way to enjoy a show, and anyone you likes a show ironically can have their opinion dismissed. Even though the first condition forces Everyone into thinking they can only like a show ironically.

Frankly I think it's all bullshit, and people should just like what they want to like.

Not him but I didn't like the mecha, they were too complex for the sake of looking impressive. It's like they wanted to make something unique by adding features everywhere and the final result is a clusterfuck of unorganized ideas. Plus the CG wasn't great and the fights were not impressive. Almost no choregraphy and no weight. Shooting thousands of CG particles or making a mecha rush at light speed while facing a hundred enemies isn"t a good fight.

Not the guy you're responding to, but with my very shitty and broken Japanese. Araki said he learned a lot from working on G-Reco. Tomino chided him for some scenes where it's extremely annoying to have trees and shit, then Araki kinda just took shortcuts and moved the Mecha scene to flat ground. Araki tends to direct scenes such that staging fits the play, which makes some [of the scenes] feel unnatural. With Kanbaneri, the same thing happened, but there are way less freedom on what he can change, so he has to go back and forth with "people up top" (animators?) on what he can put [of the play] in certain situations (I am not certain if this part is referring to the characters inside or actually in the work place).

Then some more blah blah and Araki finds Tomino's shadow in his work.

I didn't want to translate it the whole thing so I got lazy. It basically is just Araki having an inner monologue going, "is this really okay Tominio-san?" Are you seriously calling action/zombie flicks a gothic horror soap opera?
>>
>>138929426
I'm calling anything Okouchi writes for what it will inevitably be:

Soap.

It's what he does.

Ayame's cuter.

From the numbers I can gather Kabaneri has sold between 7,500 and 8,000 tickets for the prescreening. Is this any good? From what I can find on the official website only 10 theaters are doing the prescreenings.

>Sound Director: Masafumi Mima
Oh man. At the very least the sound will be on point.
>>
Did anyone even expect anything other than a possibly well animated action show? As long as it manages to do that and doesn't veer off into the DRAMA territory or something then it'll be all fine.

That's exactly what people are worried about with the series composer's history.

It's either going to sell 6k average or 40k.

Yeah, now there's a liiiiiitle bit more chances we won't hear the absolutely FUCKING DISGUSTING sound effects some actions shows are using for around half a year now

>Sawano's work is far beyond his average!
The master has to bring his A game because this is the proper Guilty Crown successor. Cant wait for the new BIOS.

The story has to go off the cliff if it goes lower than 6K

And yet they're one of modern anime fans most treasured studios so what does that say about the fanbase tastes lately.

Considering Guilty Crown never really ended up being that huge a seller (Just under 8K I believe) and that was in 2011 when the BD market was still kind to originals and anime in general I'd sooner bet on the former unless it actually ends up decently written god forbid. I expect the music sales to carry this show for now.
