I'd say it's perfectly on par with Nichijou as a paragon of slice-of-life genre, it's only majorly better factor being the style being rather less light.
But it's major point for not getting talked about is probably something to do with the fact that the jokes are rarely delivered so hard or thick as my dic- I mean Nichijou's, which for a genre that relies on either cute girls doing cute things or comedy is a bit of a demerit.
But the anime wasn't even half as good as the manga.
