I don't think it would have worked as well as it did if it was any other studio besides DEEN. If Kyo-Ani produced it, sure it'd have amazing animation but their directors are kinda autistic when it comes to comedic timing and they just can't resist cramming in anime-original characters that jar with the source material. TRIGGER would be funny as fuck but the animation would have been somehow even worse than DEEN. Madhouse might've been a good choice, but they have been surprisingly generic of late, with nothing really standing apart from the rest.
