so /a/ how many externals have you filled with your anime shows?
>Externals
Around 5tb of anime.

just build/buy a NAS you plebes.
RAID5+ exists for a reason.
Only about a terabyte so far. I've only been downloading anime for the last couple years and I delete anything I have no intention of ever watching or showing anyone.
>>138610835
got 1 terra of manga and dojinshi so that got to count as something. Right ?

>RAID5
>Not RAID1
Its like you don't even give a shit about anime.

>Not deleting shows after watching them
>Have 5 identical 2tb drives
>Got them one at a time so by the time I had them all they were all filled
>Want to RAID 5 but don't know how and backup my shit at the same time without buying yet more drives
Fuck.

I only fill internally.
Does anyone here even keep a NAS for their cartoon storage? If so how does it feel?
I had three 2TB externals, but two of them (Seagate) died. Managed to backup one of them before it went completely, but not the other. I had, like, all of Votoms, City Hunter and Space Battleship Yamato on it, among others. Gonna take forever to redownload it all.
I always delete shows after I watch them unless they're comedies because comedies have lots of rewatch value.

Zero, why waste data storage on shows when you can stream them anytime anyway.

Thought that was Komari for a second there.

Unrelated: does anyone here know decent tv 40inch below that can play 1080p mkv without re-encoding? My shitty samsung tv can only play 720p mp4.
Related: 2TB animu.
Zero, I've never heard a legitimate reason not to stream anime.

This looks familiar

Enjoy never watching old series
None. I delete series as soon as I finish watching it. Whats the point of saving anime you're not going to watch again?
If I like a show enough to want to save it, I buy the blu-ray.I own exactly four shows.
>>138615177
Pretty much this really.
>buy a hdd
>put anime on it
>paranoia hits
>buy another hdd just to back up that anime
>autism hits
>buy more hdds because I don't want to backup non-anime files on one I got for anime
>paranoia hits again
>divide up my files between multiple hdds because I hate seeing them get close to being filled, and want to leave at least a few hundred gb of space
I have about 14tb of space now and I really don't need it all
>>138615177
I'm not sure if you're just fucking with them but this is my attitude. I only download stuff if I want to fall asleep watching it.
>>138615970
Do you even like anime if you don't enjoy any of it enough to consider rewatching it at some point?
>>138616214
>5 2tb drives right now bought in the same manner
I'm getting there. Well sort of, only room in the case for one more. Well not counting the optical bays which can be converted with racks. So yeah, I'm getting there.

i use that keyboard and the fucking mouse1 in the top left corner is the greatest invention of mankind

What does it do?

Streaming sites die. Links die. On your hard drive it lives forever, until it starts clicking.

>not buying SATA storage hub
>not buying multiples of more reliable and robust Japanese-brand 1TB laptop hardrives for just ~60 bux
>anons advocating convoluted and expensive setup... such as RAID
seriously... all /a/nons need is just a SATA hub and a bunch of TOSHIBA 1TB laptop harddrives and metal casings to store them away.
