So, I know I came in real late in the season, but I just picked this anime up (and marathoned 10 episodes, if that's enough for a marathon).
I don't understand what's going on with the Dimension W. First it looks like it's just the fourth spatial dimension, seeing as it unravels into the third sort of in the way you'd expect a cube (which appears a square head-on) to turn into a bunch of squares when unraveled or turn into a bunch of triangles when rotated (from the Loser episode)
Then the flashback to Easter Island seems to confirm it, since there's a mountain of spikes or some shit.
Now they're telling me that it's unused possibilities, which is automatically stored in Dimension W as energy. In which case, my question is - why can pure energy unravel into a shitton of matter without any energy overflow, and why the hell do memories connect to a fourth spatial dimension? Is the author claiming that during dreams and flashbacks we're actually moving sideways into Dimension W? Is he saying Dimension W is time? What's going on?
Then there's the whole issue of the ghosts. Supposedly they're in a world where the faggot managed to save his friends at the cost of his girlfriend. Why, then, are they all mortally injured? If it's another possibility then shouldn't they have either healed in that possibility or died of their wounds anyway?Am I taking this shitshow too seriously?

It's an adaptation of an action LN that's too big for its britches, trying to make some dramatic metaphysical narrative about the nature of consciousness and somehow fit it into a scifi show that can't stop showing off how "cool" the main character is because he throws needles and is a war veteran.
