Also, Aria soundtrack a best. I've listened to pretty much every track on every disk a stupid amount of times. It's perfect music for driving.
Escaflowne, Arjuna, Please Save My Earth. Yeah, Kanno's good, even if repetitive and derivative. Kind of blows that the next Macross will be without her, because Frontier's songs and incidental music were fantastic and absolutely elevated the show.

I initially loved the Escaflowne movie because I saw it before the series, and you can the faults become evident afterward like where they're rushing the story and killing characterization, but I still love that completely different and more depressed tone they're going for.
Kekkai Sensen got a realy neat OST.

Well the animation is jaw-dropping for sure. From the flashy (the amazing opening fight scene) to the subtle (Escaflowne stumbling a bit as it goes down a slope.)
It just killed the characterization too much for me. What they did to Folken is a travesty.

It didn't really do it for me honestly, though the rooftop scene is nice. I like some scenes, but the movie fails to be more than the sum of its parts.
On the subject of music, I thought the UBW score was pretty impressive. I don't think they re-used tracks at all, they had many variations of motifs like actual films do. The VN remixes are great too.
