They rarely do a good job.
DEEN should just stick to comedy or something slow paced. They can't animate action scenes with consistent quality.

They produced the greatest OVA of all time and one of the greatest anime productions ever so I forgive them

Pretty sure the writing staff were pretty much the same, Log Horizon's issues were due to poor pacing, the arcs available not being particularly great particularly in adapted form, and then not having enough to adapt when it started to move into much more interesting territory.
